Because the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) ordered Equifax, Experian, and Trans Union, three consumer reporting agencies, to provide free annual credit reports to consumers. There are several ways you can get your credit report for free. Keep in mind that your credit report may not list ALL of your debt. Your debt may not be reported if you owe money to a creditor who does not report it to a credit agency.

Senate votes an amendment to the "Foreclosure Prevention Act"

Today the U.S. Senate voted to table the Durbin amendment to the "Foreclosure Prevention Act" that would have allowed cramdown of mortgages in bankruptcy. Despite appearances, the bill is not dead. There is likely to be more action on bankruptcy solutions for foreclosures in both the House and Senate. The following statement was released by NACBA and other groups supporting the bill.
